Guilt is pointless

to spend my day doing things that matter a whole lot more than work. It was one of my kiddo’s birthdays today. Got to visit him at school and do a little presentation about his life. Took him to the arcade later and had a classy meal at McDonald’s, per his request.

→ Productivity: 2/10

→ Creativity: 4/10

→ Mood: 9/10

What did I work on today?

  • Pagetear:

    • Nothing. Back to a new request tomorrow but I am all caught up on copy work.

  • Ghostwriting:

    • Wrote a few posts for a new client, finishing the rest tomorrow.

  • Content:

    • Wrote 15 posts and scheduled out. My account is in such a weird spot on X that I am legit not sure if I should just start from scratch. But for now, posting as usual.

What did I struggle with today?

It’s so easy for me to feel guilty when I have to take significant time away from work (like days like today). But guilt is a pointless emotion. I spent my day doing things way more impactful than cold outreach or writing content. I struggle with this a lot — deep, immense pressure on myself to work work work work work. But that’s all internal pressure. And it usually doesn’t matter nearly as much as I think.

What did Iearn today?

The whole point of solopreneurship is flexibility. Instead of feeling guilty for taking time for myself or my family, I should actively seek out those things way more often.

What questions am I asking today?

  • How can I build in more fun moments in my day? How can I make being home every, working on a solo business as fun as possible?

  • Totally non—biz related, but have been asking myself “what’s one movie that would’ve been better off with more SFX? And one that would’ve been better with less?”
